Portage lakes Kiwanis Pirate Days

Portage Lakes Kiwanis Pirate Days

The Secret Sisters support the Portage Lakes Kiwanis throughout the year with various events and activities on a volunteer basis. One of our favorites is always Pirate Days.

This year, pirates will invaded the Portage Lakes New State Park beach on Saturday, July 14th from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. This FREE event is a fun-filled day of activities for the kids like face painting, crafts, walking the plank, a treasure hunt and the Secret Sister Costume Contest. This year’s event brought over 400 kids of all ages to the event!

Be sure to stop by the Secret Sister tent and give us your best pirate “ARRRRRGH”!

TJ Mozik Charity Cornhole Tournament, Pig Roast and Live Auction

Every year for the past 10, the Secret Sisters have hosted a charity event that raises funds for local families who need help with medical bills/ support due to a serious illness. 2018’s June event raised over $16,000 for 2 young boys with immune system disorders that required extensive medical care.

“In the end, though, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives. In the end, maybe it’s wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices.”
